The class schedule on the right side of my blog has been updated for January. I bought a Gypsy and have added a class on Gypsy Basics.

Cricut Design Studio - $30 - *Audit the class for $15
This hands-on class will teach you how to use the Design Studio software in conjunction with your Cricut machine (Original and Expression). You will learn how to weld words together, cut words or images out of the middle of shapes and make an object outline. We will make a scrapbook layout for our final project.
NOTE: A laptop and Cricut Design Studio software are needed for this class.
PRE-REQUISITE: Creating with Cricut class.
Level: Intermediate

Creating with Cricut - $30
You will learn all of the basics of the Cricut machine (Original and Expression) as well as how to get the most out of your cartridges in this hands-on class. We will make a scrapbook layout for our final project.

Upcoming Crops

Everyone knows that I love to go to crops. I thought that I would start posting about crops I hear about and/or am going to in case anyone else would like to go. Going to crops is a great way to meet other crafters and make new friends!

Jan. 8-9 - Economic Recovery Crop* at St. Martin’s of the Fields Church in Columbia.
*I”ll be teaching Creating with Cricut at this crop for the economic recovery price of $20 (bring your machine and tools and 4 pieces of paper).
Feb. 19-21 - Winter Kisses Retreat at the Grand Shore Resort in Myrtle Beach.
March 12-14 - Cupcake Crop – Location TBA.
April 16-17 - Croppin in Columbia at St. Martin’s of the Fields Church in Columbia.

The Stamping Place and Scrapbook Station - This stamping and scrapbook store in West Columbia now has their own classroom and is offering crops in their store. They call their big crops "Scramp-a-thon" (get it? Scrapping and Stamping). Their web site is http://www.thestampingplace.com/.

If you need to catch up on printing your photos, Walgreens.com has 4x6 prints 50 or more for 9 cents each through January 2nd. The code is 9CENTS. There is also a coupon in the printed sales flyer if you want to drop your photos off in the store.

Michaels has the Gypsy for $249.99 this week and cartridges are $34.99 and $44.99.

Cricut Sales this week

Walgreens prints 50 for $5

Walgreens has prints 50 for $5 again. This is 10 cents a print. Each print after 50 is 10 cents, too. The code is PRINT and is good through 12/12/2009.

Here are my tips for Black Friday shopping:
Plan - research all the sales and make your plan of attack. Plan out what time you need to be at each store.
Prepare - If you are going to any of the 5am sales, prepare before you go to bed (take your shower, choose your clothes, do everything you can possibly do the night before because 5am comes early).
Go! - When the alarm goes off, get up and go! I find that it is best to get any Black Friday shopping done by lunch. Most people don't start until then.

Design Studio Font Update

Walgreens has 50 prints for $5 this week. The code is LEFTOVERS and is good through 11/28/2009.

Walgreens 30 for $3

Walgreens has 30 prints for $3 this week. The code is 3DOLLARS and is good through 11/21/2009. If your order is for more than 30 prints, the rest will be at the regular price, however, you can use the coupon code up to 5 times. This sale is also good in the store, just pickup a flyer and it has a coupon.

Design Studio and Gypsy Updates

Cricut released updates for both Design Studio and the Gypsy yesterday. The Design Studio update is a full upgrade to increase compatibility with the Gypsy. Get the Design Studio update here. Make sure you follow the instructions at the top of the page.
The Gypsy update  increases compatibility with Design Studio and also makes some improvements to the Gypsy. Get the update by running your Gypsy Sync software on your computer. Get the details of the upgrade here.
If you are looking for a Gypsy, www.scrapbookpal.com has them for $239.99.

Walgreens print sale

Walgreens has 10 cent prints. The code is TENEACH and is good through 11/07/2009. It looks like there is not minimum order, so it's a great deal!

Sales this week

Walgreens has prints Buy 25, Get 25 Free. The code is EXTRAFREE and is good through 10/24/2009.
If you are looking to buy a machine, AC Moore has the Expression Bundle on sale for $319 through 10/24/2009. This bundle includes the Expression, 4 cartridges (Plantin Schoolbook, Accent Essentials, Paper Pups and Stretch Your Imagination) and a marker set.
Michaels has cartridges "new styles" for $44.99 through 10/24/2009.

Design Studio Font Update and Gypsy Update

Design Studio has a new "font" update with dated 10/15/09. It is available at http://www.cricut.com/cds/Update.aspx. Click the download button in the Design Studio Font Pack section. They have finally made font pack updates so you don't have to reinstall the software each time.



This update adds the cartridges:  Designer's Calendar, Destinations, Dinosaur Tracks, Elmo Party, Old West, Pagoda, Snow Friends, Very Merry Tags, When Its Cold Outside.

There is also an update for the Gypsy with the same cartridges. It is available at http://www.cricut.com/gypsy/updates.aspx.

Walgreens sale

Walgreens has digital prints 10 cents each for orders over 50 prints. The code is EVERYLAST and is good through 10/17/09. You can also get a free 8x10 with an order over 30 prints. This code is 8X10DEAL and is good through 10/17/09.

ipod cut file

I saw similar cards like this made with punches and decided to try to make it with my Cricut. It turned out great! I designed it in Design Studio with the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. You can download the file if you want to make this card. The file contains a page showing the ipod put together, then a page for each color (base color, white, silver). Have fun!

Materials needed: Base card, cardstock for ipod (example is black), white cardstock, silver cardstock, embroidery floss, Cricut machine, George and Basic Shapes cartridge, adhesive, rubber stamp, black ink.

Walgreens Photo Sale
